NICAS projects

Research projects form the basis of NICAS. These projects incorporate the multidisciplinary ideals of NICAS and seek to make a contribution to one or more of the four research challenges. Within NICAS, several types of projects can be distinguished.

Projects funded by NWO

NWO organises calls for proposals that have a specific focus on the NICAS research agenda.

Funded multi-year projects

NICAS hosts several multi-year research projects that have been awarded funding in one of the official NICAS calls for proposals organised by NWO. A list of projects can be found here.

Funded seed money projects

NICAS hosts short term projects that investigate the feasibility of tackling certain research questions. NICAS hosts severalseed money projects that have been awarded funding in one of the official NICAS calls for proposals organised by NWO. A list of projects can be found here.

Partner projects

In addition to the projects mentioned above, NICAS hosts research projects that are the result of the close collaboration between the partners of NICAS and cultural heritage institutions in the Netherlands.

Collaborative projects

These are projects with several contributing partners and a research tackling a common research question. A list of projects can be found here.

Individual projects

These are projects involving a PhD or postdoc, in which the main part of the research is carried out by an individual researcher. These projects can form part of larger projects. A list of projects can be found here.
