Lecture Eric Breitung and Amy Marquardt

04July2017 12:00 - 13:00

We are pleased to announce the visit of Eric Breitung (Metropolitan Museum of Art) and Amy Marquardt (Northwestern University/Art Institute of Chicago Center for Scientific Studies in the Arts).

Eric Breitung and Amy Marquardt are visiting the Rijksmuseum and several other (potential) collaborators in the Netherlands to discuss ongoing and future work related to advancing atomic layer deposition (ALD) anti-tarnish coatings for silver objects. These nanoscale oxide coatings can be applied and removed without significantly altering the silver surface, and offer a very promising alternative to currently available conservation treatments and coatings for silver.

They have kindly agreed to give a lecture during their visit. Abstracts and additional information about the speakers can be found in this document.

You are all very welcome to attend these presentations, which will be held in conference room B of the Ateliergebouw (Hobbemastraat 22, Amsterdam).
