The Mauritshuis has presented the results of the scientific examination of Vermeer’s ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’. The project ‘The Girl in the Spotlight is one of the NICAS Partner Projects.

The project was a Mauritshuis initiative and involved a team of internationally recognised specialists, amongst them researchers from all four lead partners of NICAS (Rijksmuseum, TU Delft, the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands (RCE) and the University of Amsterdam), together with the University of Antwerp, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Shell Technology Centre Amsterdam, Hirox Europe, the National Gallery of Art, Washington and many other partners.

The project clearly shows the exciting and valuable results of the kind of multidisciplinary research NICAS champions.

As well as broad coverage in major national and international media outlets, you can read more about the project results on the website of the Mauritshuis.

NICAS wants to congratulate Abbie Vandivere, Head of ‘The Girl in the Spotlight’ project and conservator at the Mauritshuis, and the entire research team with the beautiful results and for setting such an exciting international example.
